Bain appeared in Magic No. 3! He laughed out loud when he learned that he went to Orlando and self-deprecating that he was shorter than his new teammates

On June 18, Magic held a press conference for new aid Bain. It is reported that when the 7-for-1 deal is about to be concluded, Bain happened to be on vacation in Florida. Bain couldn't hide his joy when he learned that he was traded to magic. "I'm really grateful to be here. When Grizzlies GM told me where I was traded, my heart sank. Because there are 29 teams in the league in addition to the Grizzlies, I could be sent to any one. But as soon as he said "Orlando", I laughed at the phone immediately. I didn't want to be offensive, as if I had forgotten Memphis so quickly. But I'm really excited about this new place."

"I'm super excited to be here," he admitted, "all the players contacted me, and the management and logistics team were very supportive of me. You can feel the excitement and expectations here - reasonable expectations are beneficial. I feel that our roster has the ability to make some special achievements."

Bain seems to be the perfect addition to the Magic's lineup puzzle. In the past three seasons, he averaged more than 19 points per game and shot 41.0% in his career three-point shooting percentage - which is what the Magic, with a three-point shooting percentage as low as the league's bottom 31.8% in the 2024-25 season, needs the most.

"If you can design a player from scratch, he is almost the ideal template," commented Jeff Weltman, Magic's president of basketball operations. "Desmond is a unique player: he is one of the top scorers in the NBA and a talented organizer. He can create scoring opportunities for himself and play balls for his teammates, create advantages with or without balls, and is a player of the golf club."

This deal gives Magic head coach Mosley's starting lineup four players who can carry the ball and create opportunities for himself or his teammates - Sages, Bain, Wagner Jr. and Benkairo. This will make Orlando's offense faster and make it difficult for opponents to hide their defensive weaknesses.

"His shooting ability, his ability to create offenses independently, and his ability to handle balls in different areas," Mosley said of the new guard. "He can make quick processing and decisions to open up space for his teammates to hit the rim. He is used to fast-paced games, and that's what we've always emphasized - speeding up. His abilities are perfect for the team."

Just as the Magic think Bain meets all needs, Bain also regards this team as an ideal destination - especially the team's concept of defense first.

"This is my instinct," Bain explained. "I am a tough player, and that's why I'm here to this day. Looking at our roster, everyone has similar traits. Their arm span may be a little longer than me (laughs), but beyond that, our philosophy is highly consistent."

When he visited the Magic's training center on Monday and Tuesday, the facility confirmed his expectation of tweeting from a distance three years ago.

"It feels completely different, brother," Bain said. "It's refreshing. You can walk directly to the outdoors and have a fresh air, eat on the terrace, and have a training ground that combines indoor and outdoor. All the advanced facilities are available, but I think what really makes the place special is the people here." Bain knows it's a new chapter for him and the team. The Magic have just recently released new team logos and jerseys, and he wore a new jersey for the first time at a media meeting.

"It's so exciting," he said, looking down at the white Magic's new jersey. "This is a new era, we want to create new memories and push the team back to their past success."

To achieve this, Bain plans to meet with teammates such as Ban Keiro before the start of training camp. He believes that as long as we continue to create a close and united locker room atmosphere, this team is talented enough to compete.

"Just look at our roster and we will find that we are not losing to any team," he said.

Now, the Magic not only has talent, but also achieves the perfect adaptation of the lineup.
