Team Note: The Timberwolves are optimistic about the value of the No. 31 sign and think that other teams may actively seek this signing position

June 22, Timberwolves reporter Chris Hine wrote an article analyzing the team's 17th and 31st picks this year.

Hine said that using Timberwolves Operations President Connelly's experience with the team as a reference, the team is likely not to use both signs at the same time.

Hine analyzed: "The No. 17 draw comes with about $4.2 million in salary space. The Timberwolves can use this fund to renew players such as Randle, Reed and Alexander Walker to avoid triggering the second rich line. The question is: Will the team consider trading this sign for future draft picks, thereby saving salary space for next season?"

"As for the 31st pick, the Timberwolves are quite optimistic about its value. They believe that the quality of the draft will decline significantly after this sign, and other teams may rush to buy this sign. Due to the interval between the first and second days of the draft, the Timberwolves can fully answer the quotations of each team and do not have to be forced to make hasty decisions like in previous years. If you choose to retain, the 31st pick, the second round, allows the team to freely design any form of contract, thereby maintaining salary flexibility."
