The Hornets cut off the former Lakers second team s backcourt star. Can he still get a contract from an NBA team?

Basketball

Charlotte Hornets officially announced that the team has signed backcourt player Antonio Reeves with a two-way contract. According to previous news, Reeves received a two-way contract from the Hornets. In order to free up a place for Reeves' signing, the Hornets also cut off Damion Baugh, a backcourt player who had previously held a two-way contract.

Bao was born in August 2000 and is about to turn 25 years old. He is 193cm tall and weighs 88kg. He is the undraft in the 2023 NBA Draft. Bao played for the South Bay Lakers, a NBA Development League team under the Los Angeles Lakers in his rookie season. His performance in the South Bay Lakers can only be considered a sloppy level. Last summer, Baux played in the NBA Summer League game for the New York Knicks and received a training camp contract sent by the Knicks, but was cut by the team before the regular season began. In February this year, Bao received a two-way contract from the Hornets and became an NBA player.

In the NBA regular season last season, Bao played 15 games, averaging 24.7 minutes per game, averaging 7.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 0.1 blocks, and 2.1 turnovers and 1.5 fouls. He shot 32.3%, three-point shooting percentage 21.4%, and free throw shooting percentage 86.7%. In the NBA Development League last season, Bao played 39 times for the Knicks' subordinate team Westchester Knicks and the Hornets' subordinate team Greensboro's Hornets, averaging 31 minutes per game, with averaging 12.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.3 blocks, and 2.7 turnovers and 2.2 fouls. He shot 43.9%, three-point shooting percentage 33.1%, and free throw shooting percentage 71.2%. Bao's performance in the NBA are so messy and has no competitiveness at all. His performance at Westchester Knicks was pretty good, showing good defensive skills and certain organizational skills, but his performance was also very bad in the Greensboro Bee Swarm.

Previously, Bao represented the Hornets in the NBA Summer League. He played 6 games in the summer league, averaging 19.2 minutes per game, averaging 7.3 points, 4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.3 blocks, and 1.8 turnovers and 1.3 fouls. He shot 45.9%, three-point shooting percentage and 40% free throw shooting percentage. Bao performed well during the summer league. Although he lacked scoring ability, his offensive efficiency was still stable. He also had certain passing, organization and defense abilities. He was a player with very comprehensive abilities. I don’t know if Bao can get a contract from other teams after being cut by the Hornets.
