The Kings sign a two-way contract with the former Hawks. Will he get more opportunities next season?
According to NBC Sports Bay Area and California journalist Tristi Rodriguez, the Sacramento Kings have signed a two-way contract with forward player Daeqwon Plowden.
Plowden was born in April 1998 and is 26 years old, 198cm tall and 98kg. He is the undraft in the 2022 NBA Draft. Prowden spent two seasons in the NBA Development League after becoming a undraft. In fact, Plaudon's performance in the NBA Development League can only be regarded as the championship. His performance in the Birmingham Squadron, a subordinate team of the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Osciola Magic, a subordinate team of the Orlando Magic, cannot be regarded as particularly ideal. Last summer, Prowden once received a two-way contract from the Golden State Warriors for his outstanding performance during the summer league, but was quickly cut. By September last year, Prowden received a two-way contract from the Hawks and became an NBA player.
In the NBA regular season last season, Plaudon made a total of 6 appearances, averaging 11.9 minutes per game, averaging 7.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.3 assists, 0.7 turnovers and 1.7 fouls, shooting percentage of 64%, three-point shooting percentage of 52.9%, and free throw shooting percentage of 100%. In the NBA Development League last season, Plaudon played 43 times for the Hawks' subordinate team, University Park Skyhawks, with averaging 31.7 minutes per game, averaging 15 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.8 blocks, and 1.7 turnovers and 2.5 fouls. He shot 40.4%, three-point shooting percentage 32.7%, and free throw shooting percentage 87.7%. In fact, Plaudon's performance is not very bad either. He still showed some traits in the NBA field during his limited playing time. However, Plaudon's performance in the NBA Development League is not ideal. His efficiency on the offensive end is very poor, and his performance on the defensive end can only be considered a sloppy level.
Plowden previously represented the Kings in the NBA Summer League. He played 6 games in the summer league, averaging 14.2 minutes per game, averaging 7.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.7 blocks, and 0.8 turnovers and 1 foul. He shot 41.4% from the field, 37.5% from three-point shooting percentage and 91.7% from free throws. Prowden performed well during the summer league, and he also showed his characteristics in all aspects within his limited playing time. The Kings gave Plaudon a two-way contract, which also shows that his performance was fully recognized by the team. I don’t know what kind of performance Prowden will perform next season in the NBA arena.
