The Nets chose a set of starters in the first round: 2.07 Midmin can play from 1 to 4, Wolf covered his face and cried

The Brooklyn Nets held five first-round picks at the 2025 draft. They wanted to package up the deal to choose Ace Bailey, but Bailey was intercepted by the Jazz who had the fifth pick. In the end, the Nets did not trade and chose five players themselves: Deming, Powell, Traore, Salav, and Wolf, which was equivalent to getting a starting lineup.

Deming is a tall point guard from Russia, with a bare foot of 2.03 meters and a height of 2.07 meters in shoes. His prediction ranking once dropped to the 17th place. Unexpectedly, the Nets chose him with the eighth place. His template was Josh Giddy. After the selection of Deming, the Nets' office was full of joy. It seemed that they liked the tall defender very much.

Nets chose French point guard Nolan Traore with the 19th pick. He is 1.91 meters tall and played for the Santank Club last season. He averaged 11.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 39.2%, and a three-point shooting percentage of 30.4% and his strength is actually quite average.

Nets used the No. 22 pick in the first round traded from the Hawks to replace Drake Powell. This 1.96-meter-high forward has good athletic ability and good three-point shooting ability. Last season's three-point shooting percentage is 37.9%.

The Nets then selected Israeli shooting guard Ben Salav, who was 1.96 meters tall, played in the Bundesliga last season, averaging 12.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game, shooting percentage of 45.2% and three-point shooting percentage of 29.9%.

Wolf, a 7-foot-tall center, began to cover his face and cry when the Nets chose Salav with the No. 26 pick, had already begun to cover his face and cry. He thought he would fall out of the first round, but the Nets' No. 27 draft immediately chose him. He averaged 30.5 minutes per game last season, scored 13.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, shooting percentage of 49.7% and three-point shooting percentage of 33.6%.

Then the Nets actually chose a starting lineup: Traore, Salav, Powell, Deming, and Wolf. Deming's 2.07-meter height is not stressful to play the fourth position.
