Win respect, Pacers Halliburton s excellent stats are again compared with Chris Paul

Tyres Halliburton showed historic performance in Game 4 against the Knicks, which made him compare to Chris Paul, who led 3-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Tyres Halliburton contributed a historic performance Tuesday night, leading the Indiana Pacers to the New York Knicks 130-121 in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals and helping the team lead the series 3-1. The All-Star guard made 11 of 23 shots, scoring 32 points, 15 assists, 12 rebounds and 4 steals. He set a game-high plus-minus +16, and had no turnovers.

Halliburton's data set the first in NBA playoff history. Since the 1977-78 season officially started counting turnovers, no player has scored at least 30 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds in the playoffs, and has not made a single turnover. He was alongside Oscar Robertson and Nikola Jokic, becoming the only two players to achieve such total scores, rebounds and assists in the playoffs – but they all did it without turnovers.

The performance of this game has once again triggered a comparison of veteran point guard Chris Paul. Known for his masterful decision-making and ball-handling, Paul has long been regarded as the gold standard for modern commanders on the field.

ClutchPoints reporter Tomer Azarly wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "Tyres Halliburton just completed his 10 assists and 0 turnovers in his 23rd game of his career, which is also his first playoff appearance. Chris Paul has 60 games in the regular season (!!!), with 10 assists and 0 turnovers in 7 games in the playoffs."

Earlier this week, former NBA forward Marcus Morris was a guest on ESPN's "First Take" program, directly comparing Halliburton with Paul, and the discussion around the similarities between Halliburton and Paul is becoming increasingly fierce.

"I think we're just used to saying that superstars have great athleticism in a larger market," Morris said. "What Halliburton did is very similar to Chris Paul. We all say Chris Paul is the superstar, right? Chris Paul is the ultimate commander... He made his teammates better, he won the game." The Pacers have now won three straight wins and will end the series Thursday night at Madison Square Garden. The fifth game will start at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TNT. If the Indiana Pacers advance, it will be the team's first NBA Finals since 2000.

Halliburton's efficient and influential performance defines the Indiana Pacers' playoff journey. As the game progresses, his comparison with Paul is becoming more and more important—not only reflected in his unique game style, but also in his rare ability to control the rhythm, motivate teammates, and not make any mistakes on the highest stage.
