A big restart! After Saudi Arabia was rejected for two years at a sky-high price, it is chasing Messi again to create the ultimate "Metro Ronaldo showdown"
According to TEAMtalk, Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) recently held transfer negotiations with international Miami core player Messi. It is reported that PIF hopes to let Messi and his long-term rival Ronaldo become an iconic figure in the Saudi league. In the summer of 2023, Saudi League team Alshylal participated in the Messi competition. Despite offering a sky-high contract of 1.4 billion euros, Messi finally respected his family's wishes and chose to join International Miami and signed for two and a half years. PIF has now restarted negotiations with the 37-year-old football king despite being rejected two years ago. As Messi's current contract expires at the end of the year, Saudi Arabia plans to sign the Argentine legend in the coming months. From July 1, Messi will be able to join any club as a free agent.

There are no transfer rumors between other clubs and Messi. It is reported that PIF hopes to clarify the player's intentions first. If the transfer is in progress, the Barcelona legend is likely to join one of PIF's four major clubs, namely Alshilar, Etihad, Riyadh Victory or Ahli Sports.
