The World Cup preliminaries in each region have been completed. FIFA has officially updated the world rankings of the new national teams. Among them, Spain, Argentina, France, and England are firmly in the top four. They are also the four most popular teams for the 2026 US-Canada-Mexico World Cup. Brazil overtook Portugal and the Netherlands to rise to fifth, and Germany rose to ninth.

FIFA top ten list:

First: Spain.

Second: Argentina.

Third: France.

Fourth: England.

Fifth: Brazil +2.

Sixth: Portugal-1.

Seventh: Netherlands-1.

Eighth: Belgium.

Ninth: Germany +1.

Tenth: Croatia.

FIFA rankings 11th to 20th list:

11th: Morocco +1.

Twelfth: Italy-3.

Thirteenth: Colombia.

Fourteenth: United States +2.

Fifteenth: Mexico-1.

According to the latest FIFA rankings, two Asian teams are among the top 20 in the world, namely Japan, ranked 18th, and Iran, ranked 20th. The decline of Italian football is also unstoppable. It has missed two World Cups, was beaten home and away by Norway in the current World Cup preliminaries, and has to play in the play-offs again. Norway is ranked 29th, but it can beat Italy. Perhaps the FIFA ranking is just a ranking, not a reflection of the team's true strength.
