Jeremiah: Of course it would be a dream to play for Real Madrid, but playing in La Liga wearing a Depor shirt would be the most wonderful thing

November 11th: Deportivo La Coruña forward Jeremiah won the Best Player Award in La Liga last season selected by the Spanish Professional Players Union (AFE). Recently, the Spanish forward was a guest on the "El Larguero" program on Radio Serre and had a conversation with the host Manu Carreño. Jeremiah said that playing for Real Madrid and Barcelona is of course a dream, but playing in La Liga wearing a Depor jersey is the most wonderful thing.

■How does it feel to be named the best player in La Liga?

Yeremayi said: "I am very happy, especially because it was voted for by my peers. This recognition makes me very happy."

■Can next year's award be awarded to you in advance?

Yeremayi said: "Haha, it's still early... We are in good shape now. We have started the new season very well and have scored a lot of points. I hope we can keep it until the end of the season and the team can achieve promotion to La Liga."

■After being promoted to La Liga, can we compete for the best player in La Liga?

Yeremayi said: "I would be satisfied if I could be promoted to La Liga (laughing). Everything else is secondary. Want to compete with Yamal? No, he is too strong, much better than me."

■Have you ever thought about being selected for the Spanish national team?

Yeremayi said: "It's still quite far away now. I'm still playing in the second division and I need to keep working hard. I hope it can come true one day. That would be great."

■Some people say that it is difficult for players in the second division to enter the national team...

Yeremayi said: "It is true that playing in a lower league will be more difficult, but football is the same. The same goes for the court, the ball is still round (laughing). Of course, the level gap does exist, and I have to move up step by step. I hope it can be realized one day. As for the Spanish coach De La Fuente, I haven’t talked with him yet.”

Yeremayi also revealed that he had received invitations from other clubs, but ultimately chose to stay in Deportivo.

Jeremayi said: "Staying in Deportivo is the best decision I can make. My goal is to lead the team to upgrade. Playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona is of course a dream, but being able to wear Deportivo's jersey and play in La Liga is the most wonderful thing for me."
