Manchester United reportedly plans to spend a high-priced deal to Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali
Manchester United hopes to sell several players in the midfield and other positions this summer. The departure of these players could bring a new contract before the 2025-26 season.
Roman Sports recently hinted that Manchester United hopes to bring in Newcastle's Sandro Tonali in the upcoming transfer window. The report also highlighted that the Red Devils hoped to make Tonali a priority target for their transfer plan.
When Tonali was associated with Italy, Tribal Football claimed that Manchester United was willing to pay 100 million euros for the Magpie midfielder. However, this potential deal will depend on the Europa League final results between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
If Manchester United defeats Tottenham, they will win a seat in the 2025-26 Champions League. This will allow them to introduce Tonali to increase their choice in the midfield.
Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen will report leaving Old Trafford after his contract expires in June 2025. This may be another reason why the Red Devils want to get Tonali.
Tonali is a midfielder and he will also serve as a midfielder if necessary. His all-around can help Amorim as his team restarted after a disappointing league game. Tonali contributed five goals and three assists in 42 games this season.
"It's tough" - Mason Mount talks about his fight against injury at Manchester United
After defeating Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the UEFA Cup semi-finals, Mason Mount reviews his struggle with injury since joining Manchester United in 2023. The 26-year-old scored an amazing goal after coming off the bench in the second half.
Mount, who was interviewed by TNT Sports after the game, said (via United Zone on X):
"Injuries and setbacks have been difficult, but I have been positive and I know there will be good things to happen. It is worth it tonight."
In Manchester United's last two games, Mount has scored 3 goals. Overall, he has only made 22 appearances for the club this season and has missed 23 games due to injury.
