Stephen Tope will replace Nick Cox as Manchester United youth training director, and he was appointed by Jason Wilcox.

In June this year, Cox announced that he would leave after six years as Manchester United's youth training director to go to Everton as technical director.

Topé serves as Brentford youth training director since January 2024 and will hold the same position at Manchester United. He has been praised for his former Manchester City career, helping to train young stars such as Cole Palmer, James McCarty and Rico Lewis.

Topé meets Manchester United's requirements and they want to find a "first-class" coach to replace Cox.

Wilcox has witnessed his strength in Toppe's nearly ten years of cooperation with Manchester City. According to the Daily Mail, the two are now ready to reunite at Manchester United and their appointment will be announced soon.

It is understood that Brentford has been reluctant to approve his departure before finding a replacement for Tope, and the specific departure period remains to be determined by both sides.
