The 5-player of the Year shortlist of Eredivisie players of the year was announced, Ajax double star was shortlisted

On May 12, Eredivisie CV, the official organization of the Dutch Football League One, officially announced the list of 5 best players in the 2024/25 season. Feyenoord forward Igor Paishao, Eindhoven midfielder Ismail Saibari, Twent core Seme Stein, as well as Ajax doubles Kenneth Taylor and David Klasson were successfully shortlisted. This selection comprehensively considers Opta's professional data system score and the number of times the player's best award won in a single game.

This annual award was founded in 2006 and was established by the merger of two awards previously selected by the Dutch Players Association and the media. Previous winners include legendary stars such as John Cruyff, Romario, Luther Gulit, Marco Van Basten, as well as modern celebrities such as Louis Suarez, Dirk Kuyt, and Duchamp Tadic. Last season's honor was won by Eindhoven's forward supporter Luc de Jong.

It is worth noting that David Clarson won the award as early as the 2015/16 season. At that time, Ajax, who was playing for, drew Grafsharp 1-1 away in the final game, and eventually finished second due to a goal difference disadvantage.

This year's award ceremony will be held on May 26 local time, and the final ownership of the award will be announced.
