Turf Care! Post: Manchester United uses garlic to care for turf at Old Trafford Stadium
May 21 According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United used garlic to maintain the turf at Old Trafford.
When visiting Manchester United UEFA Europa League final media day at Old Trafford last week, it was noticed that the stadium was receiving a unique turf care.
Hundreds of garlic are placed on the lawn to help regenerate the turf, which is a special care before the final game of the 2024-25 season. Although this scene has attracted the attention of a few fans who participated in the stadium tour, there is actually scientific basis behind it. Garlic contains high concentrations of sulfur, which can effectively drive away insects and other organisms that are harmful to the lawn, and reducing pests means healthier lawns.
