Werner rejects New York/Serie A offer, preparing to earn an annual salary of 10 million and then go to the stands for a year

Hupu August 21, German media photo newspaper RB Leipzig team reporter Yvonne Gabriel's latest report, RB Leipzig striker Werner refused to join New York Red Bull.

This transfer will not take place - at least not this summer. The transfer window for the Major League Soccer will be closed this Thursday. Inside Red Bull, the transfer was considered cancelled. Apparently, neither side has had any discussion on the matter for two weeks.

Europe's transfer window will be open longer and will be closed at 8 pm on September 1.

Other leagues are open even later, such as Saudi Arabia's transfer window will be closed on September 10. But Werner (and his wife Paula) is not expected to travel to Saudi Arabia, either.

Sports Director Marcel Schefell (41) tells Bistro to Bistro for the situation of a knocked-out candidate like Werner:

"We are having a personal discussion to tell the players how their prospects are and that they sometimes have no hope of playing time. Everyone knows their situation! The fact is, of course, the decisions about transfers are always made from a sports and financial perspective."

For Werner, this means: in the assessment of sports management, he no longer has any prospects for development. His huge salary of 10 million euros per year has made him no longer in line with the salary structure.

In other words, if he stays, he will sit in the stands.
