London Football Network: Tottenham to earn nearly £3 million from Edwards transfer
May 28 According to London Football Network, Tottenham will receive a share of nearly 3 million pounds from Edwards' transfer.
It is reported that Tottenham will benefit from the transfer of Marcus Edwards to Burnley. Edwards is about to transfer from Portugal Sports to Burnley, from which Tottenham will receive a portion of the transfer fee. Edwards has grown up in the Tottori academy camp, but has only played once for the team in the League Cup.
Although former coach Pochettino has said the young player has the trait of Messi, Tottenham sold it in 2019 and comes with a 50% second transfer share clause. Two and a half years later, when Edwards transferred to Portugal Sports, Tottenham decided to keep this clause. Under Amorin's guidance, Edwards scored in the Champions League against Tottenham and directly participated in 50 goals in 120 matches for Portugal Sports.
He lost his main position this season and was then loaned to Burnley, working again with head coach Scott Parker who once worked in the Tottori youth training camp. In the second half of the season, 26-year-old Edwards made 16 appearances for Burnley, contributing 2 goals and 1 assist, helping the team eventually ranked second in the English Championship. This week, Edwards officially transferred to Burnley at an undisclosed price, with the transfer fee reported to be about 10 million euros (8.4 million pounds). This means Tottenham will receive about £3 million from the deal, which may be used to pay Pedro Polo's transfer fee.
Another former Tottori Academic Training Player Troy Parrot has also been reported to have returned to England. Parot, 23, performed well in Alkmaar, Netherlands, and scored 20 goals in 47 games this season. In recent days, he has had scandals with many clubs such as Leeds United. Last summer, Tottenham sold the Irish international to Alkmaar for £6.7 million and added a 20% second transfer share clause to the contract.
However, Parot was not in a hurry to leave the Netherlands, saying: "If someone asked me now, I would say I would want to stay. It was the best year of my football career and I enjoyed every moment here. Although the team's results did not meet expectations, I really like everything here. In my plan, I will stay here next season and keep working hard."
