Official: Inter Miami extends contract with 24-year-old Italian midfielder Yannick Blet until 2028

October 29th, Inter Miami officially announced that it has renewed the contract with 24-year-old midfielder Yannick Bright until 2028, with an additional one-year extension option.

The player, who was born in Milan, Italy, is currently in his second season with the Inter Miami first team. He joined the team as a first-round pick in the MLS Super Draft in 2024 and won the 2024 Supporters' Shield with the team. He won the second championship trophy in the club's history with the team and set a record of 74 points in a MLS single season. The versatile midfielder has played 68 games in all competitions for Inter Miami, contributing 1 goal and 2 assists.

Before joining Inter Miami, Bright shined in college football with the University of New Hampshire Wildcats. While playing for the Wildcats, he started 69 games and scored 2 goals and 8 assists. In his senior season in 2023, Bright started all 19 games and provided 2 assists. He successively won honors such as the All-American First Team, the America East Academic All-Star Team, and the America East All-Conference First Team. He was a semifinalist for the Herman Award, and won many individual awards such as the America East Midfielder of the Year.

In addition, before playing for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats, Bright briefly played for the Italian club Alconatese, making 20 appearances.
