Official: Leicester City renews contract with 24-year-old defender Luke Thomas until 2029

September 19th According to official news, Leicester City renewed its contract with 24-year-old defender Luke Thomas until 2029.

Since joining the youth training system in 2008, Luke Thomas has played 109 games for the first team and has become a key member of the team.

Luke Thomas said: "I am very happy to renew my contract with the club. This is the team I have played for since I was a child. I am very happy to play here for another four years and hope to have more time in the future. This is really the team I have supported since I was born. My father has taken me to support Leicester City since I was a child."

Luke Thomas performed impressively as a left-back during the U18 and U21 periods. In the Premier League 2-0 victory over Sheffield United in July 2020, he completed his first team debut and assisted with his first goal.

In October 2020, he defeated Athens AEK 2-1, he completed his European debut and won the club's first goal in the Europa League group stage (3-3) against Braga a month later. In the same year, at the age of 19, he started against Chelsea in the FA Cup final and won the cup with the team.

Luke Thomas also represented England U21 and was loaned to Sheffield United and Middlesbrough in the 2023/24 season.
