Hupu News November 17th Today is the 19th anniversary of the death of football legend Ferenc Puskas. Real Madrid officially issued a commemoration message.

Ferenc Puskas (April 2, 1927 - November 17, 2006) was the greatest forward in the history of Hungarian football. He was nicknamed the "Flying Major" and was known as the "Hungarian Artillery" and "the most powerful left foot in the history of football."

Puskas played 262 games during his time with Real Madrid, scoring 242 goals and 28 assists, helping Real Madrid win 5 league championships and 3 Champions League championships. Among them, he scored four goals in the 1960 UEFA Champions League final, becoming the first person to score a "big four" in the UEFA Champions League final.

The FIFA Puskas Award was established by FIFA in 2009 to recognize the best goals of the year and is a permanent memorial to Puskas' legendary scoring art.
