The Rockets first player to leave the team

Basketball

The Atlanta Hawks complete another precise reinforcement this summer! According to NBA famous reporter Michael Scotto, the Hawks have officially signed Houston Rockets restricted free agent Enfalley Dart, with a contract worth $4.5 million for two years.

Because the Rockets refused to match the offer, the 23-year-old inside star officially switched to the Hawks, becoming the first two-way restricted free agent in NBA history to sign a formal contract offer!

Dante's rise can be regarded as a model of grassroots counterattack. Last season, he played for the Rockets as a two-way contract, averaging 15.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.0 steals in the Development League, with a shooting percentage of up to 74.3%!

In the limited playing time in the NBA regular season (4 games, averaging 12.7 minutes per game), he even handed in efficient data of 6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks, with a shooting percentage of 76.9%. What is particularly amazing is that his height of 2.11 meters and 2.29 meters, making him a natural barrier on the defensive end, and he turns into a pancake-eating maniac on the offensive end. The Rockets gave up on being the special one. This summer, they renewed their contract with Steven Adams for 3 years and 39 million, and signed back old player Clint Capela for 3 years and 21 million. Coupled with core center Alperen Shinkin, the inside lineup is already too crowded.

More importantly, the Rockets' three two-way contract quotas have been fully occupied by Isaiah Crawford, JD Davidson and Kevin Harris, and the salary space is only $1.26 million away from the luxury tax line, which is simply unable to match the Hawks' offer.

Eagle is perfect for picking up the gap. Although the team includes Okonggu, Porzingis and Geyer in the interior, Dangte's joining will further enhance the depth of the frontcourt. NBA famous reporter Keith Smith bluntly said: "Dangte's finishing ability, rebounding and basket protection level are fully worthy of this contract. He has the potential to become an important rotation for the Hawks inside."

For Dangte, this transfer is not only a salary increase (from a two-way contract to full protection), but also a turning point in his career. With Trae Young around him, he will get more opportunities to show his talent.

Although Rockets fans feel sorry, they have to accept the reality - in the NBA business league, sometimes the potential cannot match the redundancy of the lineup and salary pressure.

New season, Dang Te will continue to prove himself in the Eagle robe. His story also inspires all marginal players: as long as they work hard enough, two-way contract players can also counterattack a million-dollar annual salary!
